Diarly (the “Service”) values your privacy and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy describes the scope and procedures by which the Service collects, uses, retains, and destroys personal information.
1. Personal Information We Collect
- Account information: email, password (hashed), name, language, timezone, country
- User-generated content: diary text, voice recordings, attached photos and the capture time and GPS information embedded in them
- Service usage records: access timestamps, service usage logs, device information
2. Purposes of Use
- Member registration and authentication, service provision and operation
- Storage, classification, and summarization of records created by users (including AI analysis)
- Ensuring service stability, preventing fraud, fulfilling legal obligations
- Service improvement and responding to user inquiries
3. Retention Period
Your personal information is retained until you withdraw your membership. Upon a withdrawal request, all personal information and content are permanently deleted after a 30-day recovery grace period. However, if applicable laws require retention for a specific period, we retain such information separately for the required period.
4. Third-Party Sharing and Processing Outsourcing
The Service does not sell users’ personal information to third parties. Within the scope necessary for service operation, we use the following external services:
- Anthropic (AI analysis): processing diary text for summarization and classification
- OpenAI (voice transcription): processing voice recordings into text
- Resend (email delivery): sending notifications and authentication emails
These vendors process data according to their own privacy policies, and the Service transmits only the minimum necessary information.
5. User Rights
You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information. You can directly modify your information or withdraw your account from the in-app settings screen. For other requests, please contact us at the address below.
6. Security Measures
Passwords are stored using a one-way hash function that cannot be decrypted. All data transmission is encrypted with HTTPS. Servers are operated in an access-controlled environment.
